Hwaseung R&A has been awarded the best powertrain award at the SPE Automotive Innovation Awards, held on the 8^th (local time) in Detroit, USA.

Hwaseung R&A’s award in plastic field which has been a hot topic of the industry, as Hwaseung mainly produces rubber parts for automobiles, has a great significance in that it has achieved successful expansion of technology in accordance with fuel mileage improvement as well as CO2 reduction.

The automotive division of the SPE (Society of Plastics Engineers Inc.), the largest plastic industry organization in the world, has about 20,000 automotive and plastic engineers, consultants from 70 countries and has a significant impact on the global automotive industry.

SPE selects innovative products for plastic automotive parts annually and has 9 categories of award including material, interior, equipment, safety, and powertrain. In this ceremony, Hwaseung R&A has won the grand prize in the powertrain category.

Hwaseung R&A exhibited ‘plastic injection molding method intercooler pipe’ for the award, through which Hwaseung R&A reduced the product weight by 40% and optimized the shape through CAE analysis. Through this, Hwaseung R&A secured the flow of the internal gas and the strength of components, being awarded in recognition of its impressive business achievement compared to its competitors.
