Lemon Healthcare declares re-challenge to IPO in 2023

    Lemon Healthcare (CEO Steve Hong), a two-way healthcare data platform startup, raised $20 million in Series C investment from ‘Hanwha Smart Healthcare Technology’ fund.

    Lemon Healthcare already received $5 million VC funding in Series A(2018) and $10 million in Series B(2019). So far, Lemon Healthcare has received a total of $40 million in investment from outside VC.

    Lemon Healthcare has been recognized for its outstanding technology and business model as ‘De-Facto-standard of Korean Healthcare Mobile Application'. Hong articu-lates the 50% of the fund will be utilized for its overseas market expansion targeting US, China, Japan and Europe.

    With this investment as an opportunity, Lemon Healthcare is accelerating the develop-ment of personalized health information service using PHR (Personal Health Record) and PGHD (Patient-Generated Health Data). In addition, the company is planning to speed up the entry into the global market, which has been difficult due to COVID-19. As this investment gives flexibility to expand business and stable profit base, it plans to re-promote IPO(Corporate Disclosure) in 2023.

    Steve said, "We will upgrade personal medical data (PHR) technology by combining artificial intelligence and blockchain and strengthen our position as a personalized health care service platform that provides finely analyzed health service information."

    LemonHealthcare was founded in 2017 in an attempt to build the smart healthcare ecosystem as something more patient-centric, more convenient, and more efficient ra-ther than driven by Hospital IT Div.

    Its LemonCare platform, a customized service platform that manages everything from AI based Health Consulting making appointments / mobile payment / transferring e-prescriptions to insurance claims, was designed to alleviate inconvinience from every moment of a patient’s hospital journey. The LemonCare platform service has started in South Korea in 2018, but now offers more than 70% Class-A hospital in Korea.

    In addition, Lemon Healthcare is the first firm to apply a Blockchain-based DApp (De-centralized Distributed Application) to the healthcare platform 'ChungGu-ui-Shin : All Mighty Reimbursement', which can easily provide health insurance reimbursement. It helps Individual patients become the medium of data flow and exchange and utilize their PHR as needed. Lemon Healthcare has also been an official provider for Korean Gov't’s ‘COVID-19 Self-Quarantine Safety Protection App’ since 2021.
